Application Process – How it Works

Odyssey is part of the DPS SchoolChoice Process.  Families should research and visit schools prior to filling out the choice form.

Round 1 – Families will fill out an online Choice application starting January 2022 (exact date TBD.) Every student will be assigned to a school based on their lottery number and the order that schools are ranked on the form. Students are wait-listed on any higher ranked choices than the school they were assigned.  Families are notified of their school assignment in late March. For more information visit the DPS Choice website.

Round 2 – This round is for families that missed Round 1 or have changed their mind since Round 1.  Round Two School Choice forms are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. There is no lottery involved. If the school has available space for the upcoming school year at the time you submit your form, your student will be approved and enrolled for next year. If a wait-list exists, the student will be added to the end of the list.  Please note: If your student was wait-listed at a school in Round One, DO NOT submit a Round Two form to the same school, as your student already has a spot on the school’s list.
